From oxidation to reduction
We are "oxidized" each day as we take on the different stresses of modern life in exchange for a convenient lifestyle.
To put it another way, oxidization is like the inevitable aging we experience from birth. No one can escape from the process of aging, but it's said that the stresses of modern life can accelerate it.
The opposite scientific reaction to oxidation is called "reduction", and to use the same metaphor, reduction could be considered akin to "anti-aging".

Ca ions

Under these conditions, we focused on Ca ions, which play an important role in antioxidants and reduction. While the importance of Ca ions had been confirmed previously, there was no method yet for producing them in a safe and cost-effective manner.
